EQUANS Case Studies

EQUANS stands as a frontrunner in the facilities management sector, operating autonomously within the ENGIE Group. ENGIE, a prominent force in renewable energy investment and storage, oversees a vast portfolio of properties spanning the United Kingdom and numerous international locations. Functioning independently under the ENGIE Group’s banner, EQUANS assumes the critical role of managing the technical services and facilities for these properties. With a global workforce exceeding 74,000 dedicated professionals, EQUANS shares a steadfast commitment with its parent company in the mission to reduce carbon emissions within the housing sector.

Our work with EQUANS

EQUANS, a significant investor in the North West, has played a pivotal role in numerous construction projects throughout the region. We’ve had the privilege of partnering with them on several of these ventures. Partington Project

2020 – 30 months – £600,000

The Partington Project was a major undertaking for us as part of EQUANS rolling update of their housing stock. They update their significant property portfolio every 20 years to ensure the buildings comply with the latest housing legislation and guidelines.

We were instructed to make several adaptations to the properties in the Partington Project to make them more accessible for disabled tenants, as well as upgrading the windows, doors, and cladding to ensure the buildings are safe, secure, and energy-efficient. The disabled adaptations included fitting access ramps to all properties, a process that included doing the necessary groundwork. To make the homes more energy efficient, we installed brand new double-glazed uPVC windows across the board, as well as composite doors. Not only did these help reduce heat loss from the properties, but their additional security measures also allowed residents to feel safer in their own homes, which is a key concern for tenants with mobility issues.

To further reduce heat loss, we installed Cedral cladding on the exterior of the properties. This hard-wearing material is made up of cement and cellulose fibres, giving it great durability and making it resistant to fire, rot, and the elements.
